1.) Log into your Gmail account which you wish to delete.

2.) Once you are logged into your Gmail account, click on the Gear icon located on the upper-right corner of your Gmail account’s page. A drop-down menu will appear on your screen.

3.) From the drop-down menu that appears on your screen, click on the Settings option. This will direct you to the Settings page of your Gmail account.

4.) Now, on the Settings page, go to the Account and Import tab. Under Account and Import tab, you will need to click on the “Other Google Account settings” option located under the Change account settings option. Clicking on this option will direct you to your Google Account settings page.

5.) Next, you will need to go to the Account preferences section. Under this section, click on the Delete your account or services option. You will be directed to the next page.

6.) On the next page, simply select the Delete Products option. You will be prompted to enter your Gmail password.

NOTE: You can select Delete Google Account and Data option instead of Delete Products option if you wish to completely remove your Google account and its data such as Google Docs, AdSense, AdWords, Search history along with other Google services.

4.) After selecting Delete Products option, you will need to click on the Trash icon located next to the Gmail option. This will pop up a dialog box on your screen asking you to enter an email address which would like use in order to continue using other Google services that are associated with the Gmail account you are about to delete.

5.) So, simply enter the email address in the prompted field and click on the SEND VERIFICATION EMAIL option. A verification email will be sent the email address entered by you.

NOTE: Google will not remove your Gmail account until you verify the new email address entered by you in the above step. So, make sure to verify the email address to complete the Gmail account deletion process.

6.) Therefore, go to the email account which you entered in the previous step and open the email sent by Google. Click on the link sent by Google for verifying your email address.
