How To Configure MSN Mail Account with Outlook 2016

Steps to Configure MSN Mail with Outlook 2016
Method 1: Automatic Configuration
1.) Open Outlook and select File tab to select the Account Information option.
2.) Under Account Information, click Add Account option.
3.) Select E-mail Account, and enter your Name, Email Address and Password in the required field.
4.) Once entered, click the Next button. Outlook will begin configuring your MSN Mail account automatically, starting from establishing a network connection, then searching for your account’s setting and at last signing on to the mail server.
5.) Once the process gets complete, you will see Congratulations! Message in the window. Click Finish and restart your Outlook. You can find your MSN account you added on the left side of the Outlook window located below the inbox of your main account.
Method 2: Manual Configuration
1.) Open Outlook and go to File > Account Information > Add Account and select option Manual setup or additional server types. Click the Next button.
2.) On the POP and IMAP Account Settings Window, make the following changes
- Enter Your Name and Email Address
- Account type: This is generally IMAP
- Incoming mail server: imap-mail.outlook.com
- Outgoing mail server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
- User Name: Your complete email address
- Password: Enter your password
3.) Then, go to More Settings > Outgoing Server and select the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
4.) After that, under the Advanced tab, make the following changes:
Incoming server (IMAP): 993
- Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL
Outgoing server (SMTP): 465 or 587
- Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL or TLS
5.) Select OK > Next > Finish to complete the configuration process of MSN Mail with Outlook.
